I couldn't resist doing an unscientific experiment of my own with the Debbie Meyer Green Bags. I purchased a big plastic container of grapes the last time I was at Sam's club. Half went into the D.M green bag and half stayed in the plastic container. 9 days later the grapes in the green bag are still firm and as fresh as the day I purchased them. The grapes in the original container are growing hair and mushy. Eeeewwww and Gross!
I also purchased a bag of red bell peppers at Sam's. I kept one out and the others I put in a D.M. green bag. The one I kept out is a shrivelled mess the others in the D.M. green bags are all firm and look just like they did the day I purchased them. I didn't do anything else because I didn't want to waste anymore food or $$$.
I knew my fruits and vegetables were lasting longer when I put them in the D.M green bags, however I was curious to see what the difference was and it was huge. I didn't think about taking before and after pictures until I sat down to blog about it. Next time I do an unscientific experiment I will be sure to remember to take before and after pictures. lol!

LOL
Have you tried taking the bagged salds and putting them in the "science bags" to see if they keep longer?
I really have to get by Walgreen's to pick some of these things up.
How much do they cost and how many do you get?
They cost 9.95. You get 10 medium and 10 large bags per box and you can reuse them. A tip is never wash or put wet produce in them.
I have put the salad kits in them and they last a couple of days longer than normal. However, I've had better luck with buying the different bunches or head of lettuce and putting them in their own bag. When I do this the lettuces last 7-9 days whereas the salad mix only last 2-3 days longer.
I forgot to add, you can reuse the bags a couple of times!
What are they made of? Any worries about chemicals or does the safety of veggies outweigh those concerns? How many times have you reused? Blog says a couple but site says ten times.
